I understand that setting aside a budget for a photographer is not an easy decision. Take it from me-a person who has photographed many weddings-and didn't listen to her own advice and those of her peers. I didn't hire a full-time wedding photographer for my daughter's wedding. Yep-you heard that right. I thought I could hire my friend, and we could both share the responsibilities of capturing the day. I was wrong. I mean-dead wrong. First of all, I couldn't enjoy myself. Instead of being fully immersed in the excitement of the day, I was constantly on call. If you use a friend/relative you've already put the focus of the day as not being as special as it should-for either the couple or your friend. Think about it-would they have as good a time as someone who was just there to enjoy the day? Not on your life. With a dedicated, professional photographer you get peace of mind, expertise, dedicated focus, and high quality results.
